FAQs on My Farm Story Honey
We recommend taking one tablespoon (approximately 10 ml) every morning on an empty stomach. For the best experience:🍯 Allow the honey to slowly coat your throat.⏰ Wait 15–30 minutes before drinking warm water or eating breakfast.🥄 Use a wooden or ceramic spoon whenever possible.❄️ Always keep refrigerated after opening to preserve its natural enzymes, aroma, flavour and freshness.Since our honey is 100% raw and unheated, refrigeration helps maintain its naturally occurring nutrients.
Our honey is completely raw.It is never heated, pasteurised or preserved. Most commercial honeys are heated during processing to improve shelf stability and appearance. While this makes them easier to store at room temperature, heating may reduce some naturally occurring enzymes and delicate compounds. At My Farm Story, we choose not to heat our honey.Instead, we preserve it exactly as nature created it.That's why refrigeration is recommended—to maintain its freshness, natural aroma, flavour and beneficial compounds.

Stingless Bee Honey is unique because it naturally contains trehalulose, a rare sugar that has attracted significant scientific interest in recent years.Trehalulose is a naturally occurring sugar found in stingless bee honey that has a Low Glycaemic Index (GI) of approximately 32, compared with ordinary table sugar (sucrose), which has a GI of around 65. This means trehalulose is digested and absorbed much more slowly by the body. Why does this matter?Foods with a lower Glycaemic Index release glucose into the bloodstream more gradually.Because trehalulose has a unique molecular structure, it is broken down more slowly than ordinary sugar. This slower digestion may help reduce sudden spikes in blood glucose and insulin levels after eating, providing a steadier release of energy.Research has also identified trehalulose as a major natural sugar in stingless bee honey, accounting for approximately 13–44% of the honey's sugar composition, depending on the bee species and floral source. This rare sugar is not found as a major component in conventional honey or most other natural foods. Can people with diabetes consume Stingless Bee Honey?Although stingless bee honey contains trehalulose, it is still honey and still contains natural sugars. For this reason, people living with diabetes should enjoy it in moderation and as part of an overall healthy eating plan. Individual blood sugar responses can vary, so it is advisable to monitor blood glucose levels and consult your doctor or dietitian regarding the amount that is appropriate for you. Many people choose stingless bee honey as a more natural alternative to refined sugar because of its unique sugar profile, but it should not be regarded as a treatment or cure for diabetes.
That distinctive flavour is one of the signatures of authentic stingless bee honey. The natural sweetness is balanced by gentle acidity, subtle fruit notes and floral aromas. This unique taste comes from:Wild forest flowersNatural tree resinsOrganic acidsSeasonal nectar sourcesBecause the bees forage from different flowers throughout the year, every harvest has its own personality, much like a fine vintage wine.No two batches are exactly alike.
Yes, children over 12 months old can generally take stingless bee honey.Never give stingless bee honey—or any honey—to a baby under 12 months, even in a very small amount or mixed into food. Honey can contain Clostridium botulinum spores, which may cause serious infant botulism. Pasteurising or warming the honey does not reliably remove this risk. For children aged one year and above:Begin with about ¼ to ½ teaspoon to check for any reaction.Older children may take around ½ to 1 teaspoon, preferably with food or mixed into a cool or lukewarm drink.Treat it as an added sugar, not as a medicine. Frequent consumption can contribute to tooth decay, so avoid giving it before bedtime and encourage tooth-brushing. Avoid or seek medical advice first if the child has a known bee-product or pollen allergy, diabetes, a serious immune condition, or is on a medically controlled diet.Suitable for adults and children over 12 months. Not suitable for infants below one year old.
